Area chart - Cumulative or Percentage?

Is there a way to create a cumulative or percentage type area graph
using visualisations? All I can make the area chart do so far is the
same as the line chart but filled in.

I am not sure I quite understand what you are trying to do, but have you tried setting the isStacked option to true as mentioned in the documentation?
