Google Maps international City Borders

Hi there,
I am not sure if i'm at the right place to ask - so please forgive me
if i'm wrong haha :) I was searching google (AKA the whole internet)
for a solution to my problem but i couldn't find what i needed.

What i seek for is the following: I need a Map on which you can enter
one (or several) City-Names and it will display these cities
boundaries. I've seen google and twitter using that and i wonder how i
can do it. I've found some solutions where i would need to access
external Databases, which would be okay, but they only provide
geometric data for us-states and cities. But i need international
(mainly swiss) data.

So if anyone can help me with that problem would be awesome! I'm very
new to the Google Maps API and i've only done some quite trivial
projects so far - this now seems to expand above my abilities haha.

I'm looking for the same solution, but i couldn't find any yet.
I think it's a new functionality that Google Maps will provide soon in
the API, but I can't tell you for sure.

Do you have the boundaries of those cities? KML would be simplest.

The Google Maps API doesn't provide that data. You might be able to
find it publicly available in FusionTables. I know the natural earth
data set is available there, but I don't think that has city
boundaries, just states/cantons.

It was really hard to find those kind of data.

I have just found data of world country borders, which may not be helpful for you.

If you ever need this data, go to my Fusiontable. I've separated whole KML files into each country cell for everybody to use.
