I was wondering if anyone has seen the The Google Maps Javascript API License https://developers.google.com/maps/terms section 10.2(a) and if their term "wrapper" would apply to freely available code libraries such as gmaps.js. 10.2 Restrictions on the Types of Applications that You are
Permitted to Build with the Maps API(s). Except as explicitly permitted
in Section 8 (Licenses from Google to You) or the Maps APIs Documentation,
you must not (nor may you permit anyone else to) do any of the following: ---- I really hope libraries like these are not in violation of Google's
Terms because these libraries make using the Google Maps API so much
better. I don't have write so much Google Maps API code over and over
and over again for my various applications. I might even want to
contribute a helper library like this myself. Why should someone have to invent the same wheel I already did? |
