changing map overlay to V3 from V2

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to change this tile overlay map (minus markers and info-window stuff) from V2 to V3 so i can merge the overlay with a fusion table? 

i will not need the markers any more on the original map because I would like to combine the fusion table now for my markers and info windows. I am just learning all this and I am having a  hard time getting it all together.

I am also going to need to know how to merge my fusion table with the final version of the overlay map.

Unless I'm missing something, looks to me like it would just be an ImageMapType:  http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/maptypes.html#ImageMapTypes

I am getting more and more confused when it come to combining these two files.  I am just way to knew at all this. Is there anyone who could give me a hand so I can learn a bit more.  I looked at the ImageMapTypes but it confused me more since my code for my tiled hybrid map looks nothing like that.

Is there anyone out there willing to give me a hand I have read and dug around for weeks now on this problem.  I am just so new to all this and I have made a confusing mess it seems.
