The clientLocation component of the Google Loader has been depreciated.

There are a number of APIs providing this sort of "ip2location"
service - you will have to use a non Google API.

For a variety of reasons, it is strongly recommended that you NOT use the clientLocation property. Primary among these is that geolocating clients based on IP address - which is essentially what the clientLocation property does - is inherently unreliable. It is therefore recommended that you utilize the HTML5 geolocation API. Depending on the device, as long as the user agrees to share their location with you, the HTML5 method will use your WiFi SSID, cell network, or GPS to track the client down. There are all sorts of resources online for using the HTML5 geolocation API. So have fun!

Hi,

Is there any way, to skip the dialog window for "share your location". by default it should be shared.

No. That is a security feature built into the client.

I had a play with this a while ago more out of interest than anything else. Still don't know how it works or why it's so accurate sometimes and not others. Check out this www.gtrek.co.uk/myloc.

The geolocation API does require the user's permission to send right?

That bluevia api thing looks interesting. Any idea if there's a cost involved?

Thanks

Most recent devices support the geolocation API. Take a look here to find out more about specific versions of Android and iOS http://html5test.com/results/mobile.html
You may also be interested in the location API provided by Telefonica's Bluevia https://bluevia.com/en/page/tech.APIs.LocationAPI that uses the network to obtain the coordinates.
