How to put some text on the map?

I need to put some texts on the map, something like "Eurasia" somewhere between Europe and Asia.
Because texts are generated dynamically, I cannot use predefined picture.

How to put pure text on the map?
(in both cases: where it is binded to the point on map and where it is static)
