+ signs in labels are not converting to spaces

The + signs I add to labels are not getting converted to spaces.

chtt: 'Roonited+Department+Participation'

prints exactly like that: Roonited+Department+Particpation.

Same for chart labels.

Instead of spaces, either put in a real space, or %20

I feel like I'm missing something. I am also trying to insert a space
in text and all I get is a new node with the text "0".

Any thoughts ?
