RetrieveAllUsers() - 500 Internal Server Error

We have 21219 users in our apps domain now, and have been getting more frequent errors in the gdata python api:

service = gdata.apps.service.AppsService(email=admin_username, domain=our_domain_name, password=our_passwd)
service.ProgrammaticLogin()
try:
  users = service.RetrieveAllUsers()

throws the exception:
 {'status': 500, 'body': 'Internal Error', 'reason': 'Internal Server Error'}

Before we migrated all our students to apps, this error occurred very rarely (Once every few days).  Now it occurs more often then not...
Is there a different way we should be listing our users via the API?
(we tend to get the same error when we 'service.RetrieveAllNicknames())

I found the server-side errors in our logs and I filed an internal bug for the engineers to investigate the issue.

Yes.  Some days it happens more often than others.. but it’s still happening regularly.

It’s happening more often than not now.

Hi Joey:

I took a look at our API logs. Over the weekend we had some service outages affecting the User Profiles API, and some of the 500 status messages seem to be related to those outages. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to look at logs for older requests. Our engineering team has been busy stabalizing the Apps CPanel and Profiles API, so these particular issues should clear up today. Please let us know on this thread if, after today, you notice a growing amount of 500 errors.

In any case, these errors don't seem specific to a domain or user - In this case, I would recommend that your code catch the 500 status response (the same way you should for 503 status messages) and retry the API call.
