Has anyone noticed significantly improver performance since the beginning of this month? Where a single instance handled about 4-5 requests per second, a single instance is now handeling 11-12! This has obviously lowered my billing :D

From the beginning I expected a small single core instance to be able to handle about 10 requests/second. I always thought the over head of the datastore was very high.

I hope Google continues to make these kinds of improvements. I will definitely consider using the Google App Engine for my future apps!

We're seeing something like a 3x reduction in average request latency.
Pretty dramatic improvement.

I'm pretty sure I used to see these numbers for our app as long as a
year ago. The avg latency seemed to creep up over time until this
"reset".

Instances are spinning up much more quickly too.

App-engine moved into a new (bigger?) data-center?
