OpenID authentication gives 500 Server Errors?

Hi - we're seeing 500 Server Errors on all login attempts. It dies on
the login_redir call:

myapp/_ah/login_redir?claimid=google.com/accounts/o8/site-xrds?
hd=blahblah&continue=noyoudont

We're seeing this across all apps at the moment...?

It's been down for around 10 freakin hours for us. Anyone using Google
to login to our site (i.e. 90% of our users) cannot login.

All,

Adding www to the front of the google OpenID claimid seems to fix or
work around the issue. Have a look at my issue for an example - I have
added another comment.

My users are seeing the same issue. And since my app integrates with Google Apps it means none of my users can't sign in!

Iam also facing the same problem from today morning
as James Broberg told,I used www.google.com instead of google.com it
works fine..

Hey everyone,

Yeah, that's the correct fix. The original documentation should have shown that the www prefix is the officially supported prefix.

Is there anyone that can't deploy a change with this fix anytime soon? There is a fix being worked on but it won't go out soon.

I take that back, a rollback was completed after all. This issue should not be affecting users anymore

For future reference, the www prefix is the officially supported prefix (it also works better). I've updated this article to use the full URL:
