I am trying to send an email form my app engine app using one of the
administrator accounts (email is listed in Permissions in the
dashboard) as described in the docs at:

http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/python/mail/sendingmail.html

Even the sender is an admin of the app i can`t get around this error.

I have tried a different admin. No luck with that. And I even tried
the "send_mail_to_admins" function from mail which is also not working
with the same error.

Any suggestions?

Daniel

Sounds like it may be related to:
http://code.google.com/p/googleappengine/issues/detail?id=5575

I think others have reported that it only impacts accounts with a
period ('.') in it.

Yeah, I have tested this. It seems to impact authorized senders where the email address has a period in the name.
