Pull queue throughput limit?

Is there a practical limitation on the throughput of a pull queue? I
don't see any documented limit.

If I had thousands of producers and consumers working simultaneously
on a single pull queue, would it hold up? Let's hypothetically say a
thousand adds and a thousand removes per second. One queue item each
(no batching).

I would like to know this info too!  Especially the throughput limit on inserts without batching!
