Wildcard domain mappings and alternate versions

In 1.6.3 we have this: "Using Google Apps wildcard domain mappings, you can access alternate versions of your app via a custom domain."
I can't seem to find any documentation for this feature.
Is there something more I need to configure in Google Apps? What?
What does a URL to my version look like?

I was looking on how to use it. It is documented at the bottom of this page: http://code.google.com/intl/en/appengine/docs/domain.html. Didn't tested yet.
