OK, I had asked this as part of another posting, but it was ignored.
Here it is again, all by itself:

Has anyone successfully used zipimport in Python on appengine (for
something besides Django)?

Do you put the .zip file in the top level directory? In a
subdirectory, do you reference it using sys.path.insert(0, '../
lib.zip')?

Hi

You can just put the path (including the zipefilename) into sys.path.

I use it for all sorts of things.

It also gets used under the hood if you have zipped eggs.
