Number of entity writes in google launcher

Is the number of writes lower when you are just updating one field in
the entity and not creating a new entity?''

That is, is the number of writes in launcher the value when you are
creating an entity?

Or, is it the same number of writes every time you write the entity,
even if you only change a single field?
