Interestingly our average request latency improved after each downtime. MS/req went down from about 120ms/req to 70ms/req after the first and is now down to 35ms/req after the second.
A couple minutes of downtime is not a big deal from my perspective and I very much appreciate the improved request latency.
Still, it would be nice to know when it's coming; it's a little disconcerting to see the service go down out of the blue with no explanation.
