do we need to wait for Brad's 2GB read CL?

The CL isn't done yet (apparently also buggy on FreeBSD, and pread, etc). There will be more betas. No rush on this... it's been like this forever.

I agree, there will always be one more bug, and there will be more 1.3 betas, no need to rush.
