I have a Samsung CLX-4195FW printer that is a cloud ready printer.  When I go through the web interface of the printer to connect it to google's cloud print service all looks ok.  I can register the printer just fine, and it appears to communicate just fine according to the test connection settings within the printer's web interface.  However when I go to my managed printers within google cloud print it shows up as greyed out and offline.

However if I go through adding it as a non cloud print ready printer through chrome it then works, however naturally when I shut down the connected PC that I set it up through it then goes offline.  Samsung support has been no help as they do not understand what I am talking about. and suggested that if the printer shows that it registered and the connections are ok then I need to contact google.

Thoughts?  I have also allowed the port forward of XMPP port 5222 to my internal IP off my router.  I am at a loss.  Has anyone experienced anything like this.  I had another Cloud Ready printer previously and did not have to set any port forwarders and it worked fine.  So I am not sure if it is a Samsung issue, google cloud print issue, or network problem.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It's possible there may be some issue with XMPP messages being spread out over more than 1 network packet. Do you have a way to verify how many network packets the XMPP messages are taking? Note that if your MTU is smaller than other networks it would affect this metric.

Assign the printer a static IP address ( Wireless Printer Off-line Problems )

An IP address is an Internet network address that the computer can use to communicate with the printer. Enter a static IP address to make sure that the wireless connection remains stable. Follow these steps to assign the printer a static IP address.

o    Get the printer IP address.

o    Press the Wireless button on the printer control panel to view the network settings.

o    Access the Network menu on the printer control panel.

o    Print a Network Configuration Page or Wireless Test Report page.

o    Once you have the printer’s IP address, open a new web browser window or tab.

o    Type the IP address in your web browser’s address bar, and then press Enter.

Make sure that you type the IP address into the browser’s address box. If you type it into a tool bar search box, the EWS will not open.

The Embedded Web Server (EWS) for the printer opens and confirms that the printer is on the same network as the computer
