I can not figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I've tried a number of different Linux desktop remote clients, and have also tried mapping the xhost DISPLAY, however nothing I do is yielding a desktop? I just need to be able to connect to my x Windows and I've already loaded the GNOME & KDE desktop environments.

Hello Andrew,

You can refer to answer on this stack overflow post which has steps to install GUI on Linux using VNC.
