Are Franca IDL files and Fuchsia's FIDL files related in any way?

Hi, all—

I've run across the FIDL extension a few times now in the last few years, but in completely different contexts. Can somebody confirm my suspicion that Franca's "FIDL files" and Google Fuchsia's "FIDL files" are entirely unrelated? Or... do they share any common history or 'back story'? (The syntax seems different, from what I can tell, but it's still pretty hard to find concrete information related to Fuchsia.)

Hi,

you are right, they are entirely unrelated - it is just a coincidence. Franca has been initiated in 2012, Fuchsia (and its FIDL language) is a more recent development.

Thanks for confirming! I'm writing a script to manipulate Franca's 'FIDL' files, and I just wanted to make sure I could safely ignore whatever's going on over in Fuchsia, for now...
