Facebook access token usage in Foursquare

HI,
I'm planning to write mobile app using FourSquare V2 API and make use
of Facebook users.

Is it possible to retrieve data from Foursquare using Facebook auth
token provided Foursquare user mapped the user account with Facebook
user account?
If the user is not mapped the user account with Facebook account, is
it possible to map it from API?

Hi Venu,

You can't use facebook credentials to access foursquare, you'll need the user to specifically authenticate your application to access their foursquare information.

To find a facebook user on foursquare, you can use our /users/search endpoint: https://developer.foursquare.com/docs/users/search.html, but in general, you'll find out their userid if you just begin our authentication process with them anyways

HI Akshay,
Thanks for the response. I thought the samething but hoping that
linked users (user who linked/mapped their foursquareid with
facebookid) can seamlessly access foursquare and facebook data with
the same token. For eg: if I login to facebook.com with my creds and
when I go to foursquare.com it automatically logs in. I thought if SSO
for this scenario works then my app should be able to fetch data from
both the sources with same token!
It looks like one has to login seperately to facebook and foursquare,
if they need to fetch data from both the sources even if that user
linked the accounts. Is this correct assumption?

Correct. Linking accounts are not the same thing as SSO.
