I did some tests and I can return the statusbar, but with a few restrictions:

1. Addon Permissions: Access your data for all websites
2. Statusbar will not be displayed on some sites: mozilla.org and google.com
3. Statusbar will not be displayed on sites that do not have pages, for example error 404 (page not found)
4. Statusbar will not be displayed on internal Firefox pages, for example about:addons, about:config, etc.
5. Statusbar will not be displayed on the WebExtensions pages "moz-extension://...."

Do I need to continue working?
Or statusbar with such restrictions do not need for users?

Yes, that would be fantastic!  This will make Forecastfox the best weather extension from the rest.
Will there be some configuration options to set the position of the statusbar (Top, Bottom, Center, Left Corner, RIght Corner)?

If that will get the old position back that will be great, at least for me. I am used to being able to just glance at the addons bar and see what the weather is, without having to take the time to move over and click the current button. I know it sounds like I am just lazy, but there are times when I am working on something else on my desk, and don't want to have to move that out of the way and access my mouse to get the info. Thanks for your efforts.

It was perfect the way it was. All I had to do was hover and see the radar map with out having to click click click

Yes, please change it back. This update makes it useless for me.

To be honest, if I can't have Forecast Fox in the status bar, it's going in the trash. That was the best part of it.

I am not concerned about the appearance. What I am concerned about is that it is not possible to change the default location setting with the current version. Will this fix that issue?

Yes, please bring the status bar back...

Agreed we need to complain to Mozilla for this and not you as the developer though it appears many of us prefer the status bar location as compared to having to click the button... :)

Great work on the new layout though given the limitations Mozilla is placing on developers...

I can live with the restrictions. Just let ppl choose whether they want a status bar or not.

You've done a great job with this latest revision of this great add-on. It has just one serious weakness: it hogs way too much space on the Firefox interface as illustrated in screenshot I've attached. Could you possibly give users the option to choose what information appears on their browser interface? I would venture that most users do not need it to tell them everything about their location: city, state, zip code, country and time. All of this nonessential information takes up way too much space. There is no other weather add-on for Firefox that is any where near as good.

Oleksandr,

I would definitely like to see the statusbar return.  It is the main reason that I continue to use Firefox.  Is this a true status bar or is it just going to cover up the bottom of each webpage?  Still, the screenshots you posted look great, I would love it if you are able to implement those changes in the next version!  Thanks for continuing to work on this plugin, it is extremely useful and helpful to have.

Sorry, but its limitations from Mozilla: only button-popup-window on toolbar , and only inject forecast on each websites (without some adresses from mozilla.org and google.com)
so, version 4.1 has button-popup-window on toolbar and inject forecast on each websites (without some adresses from mozilla.org and google.com)

Can't you put it back the way it was? It wasn't broke. It was much better before. We need the hover map back, and the other days info in the bottom tool bar

I agree that the new version is taking double line space in the ad on bar because of the cloud and temperature icon. I know there's clocks all over but the time the weather was refreshed at a quick glance is good. I think the State, zip code and country could be removed to shorten up the display. Or, Or put in the menu what each person wants to see displayed on the ad on bar.

I have found my little icon, finally. I'd prefer that the icon take us directly to the Accuweather site, actually. That's what the Chrome version does, and I'm fine with that. I don't need all the info that was on that bar. I just want to know the temperature and the rain/sun factor, which I get in the mouseover The only thing I can see wrong is that the temperature covers the actual icon. Is there any way you can put them side-by-side?

I appreciate all your work. A lot of my favorite add-ons have simply disappeared after the Mozilla changes. The developers just didn't feel lke messing with it.

One other thing - can you make it so if you click on the icon and then click on something that takes you to the Accuweather site, like "hourly", that the popup closes on its own? It's just sort of annoying to have to close it once we are on the site. Thank you.

When Firefox turned off statusbar by default, I moved ForecastFox to the menubar. It still functions the same way. Will this still work OK when Firefox kills the Xul-addons?

This looks great, really nice job!  Ok, I have now switched to the new version, thanks so much!  I didn't think I would like the vertical layout, but it's sort of growing on me.  I just had a few suggestions to improve it further:
1.) Could you please have an option to make the weekday name text simply be "Now" for the current temperature like it was in the old version?  This would allow the bar to take up less real estate on the screen.  It's currently causing the bar to be very wide compared to the other days due to showing the full city state and zip code.
2.) Could you please move the bar over to the left just a little so that it does not block the browser's vertical scroll bar?
3.) A transparency option would be nice so that we could adjust the bar's opacity to be able to see if there is content on the page behind it.
4.) It would be nice if there was an option to display the bar on the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the screen.

Thanks again for all of your hard work in improving forecast fox!  This is the best weather add-on!

Hello ,

ty for the continued work on the addon , i'm glad the bar is back :D !

i'm simply wondering if it's possible to have it work on the Mozzila " Addon bar " like the attachment shows , funny how the new all in one button goes there but not the full bar ?

would be very interesting if that can be in the same bar to save space and overall look and feel ^^

Sorry, but the statusbar/addonbar is missing in new versions of Firefox.
The current version of Forecastfox is the version for the new API: WebExtensions (supported Firefox and Google Chrome)

WebExtensions not supported "statusbar/addonbar" from xul-addons like as "Addon-bar restored", "Status-4-ever" , etc

And all Xul-addons is die in Firefox 57 (November 2017)
