We do not and will not support wayland in the foreseeable future. We're
using only X11 on Linux/Unix systems. Wayland support may be added later
though, but it's not on our current to-do list.
There is a Window Manager (WM) written in FLTK called 'flwm'. I tested
it recently (some weeks or months ago on a stock Ubuntu system) and it
seems to work as well as to be expected: it is a very minimal WM and has
some "special features", e.g. window titles at the left side of the
window (but this can be changed to the normal layout at the top).
The best sources I could find were from the TinyCore Linux project.
These guys fixed some issues and TinyCore Linux is specialized for small
systems. Maybe you can use it directly or you can pull at least the flwm
sources from there. Please check the license (GPL).
