Dignity in Asylum Request
Do you have extra home furnishings? Dignity in Asylum, a new organization whose mission is to support asylum seekers get settled in the US, is providing housing and support for “a lovely yet very vulnerable family of four seeking asylum, a mother and her three children”. They hope to move the family into a two bedroom apartment next week. They need:
- 3 twin mattresses
- 4 twin bedframes
- dressers
- kitchen or dining room table and chairs
- kitchen equipment
- bed linens and towels
- lamps
- rugs
- towels
- school material for two boys ( list will be provided, Junior High and High School)
- basic pantry items ( non perishable)
- bathroom basics ( toilet brush, rug, shower curtain etc. )

Dignity in Asylum was founded by a member of the local Amnesty International Chapter which meets at First Parish, and was a Social Action grantee last year.
