So if I understand correctly, you don't see anything inside the HTML panel and it's side panels?
Could that be a conflict with another addon? Does that happen on all pages? Which version of Firebug do you use? Could you please provide a screenshot?

I have been using firebug successfully for months on Firefox.  All of a sudden, today, it no longer displays the code when I right-click - inspect element on the page I am viewing like it used to.  It opens the window and the HTML tab and Style tabs are highlighted but there is nothing displayed below them.   I have rebooted my computer and nothing happened.  I am using Firefox 17.01

Anyone got any ideas on what might have gone wrong or how to fix it?  PS I have also reinstalled firebug to no avail.

I checked the add-ons and turned many of them off.. then I noticed that the firebug addon said something about having to reboot firefox so I did and now it works.  Funnything is, I have rebooted firefox about a dozen times before going to the add-on's page.  So while the problem is solved, I guess I'll never know if it was the addons I turned off or this last reboot.  Regardless, thanks very much for directing me to it.
