Can't Run in Firefox 6

I have version 1.8.1 and it's suddenly not working after upgrading to
Firefox 6. In the Firefox Add-Ons Manager, Firebug 1.8.1 is listed. If
I click on the Compatibility button, it displays the alert "This add-
on no longer works."
What should I do to fix this?

I don't understand what is causing these problems.
Please try to create a new Firefox profile install just Firebug into
it and let us know if it helps.

Hi there
I'm having the same problem. I've actually uninstalled Firefox 6 and
reinstalled with a new completely clean profile, and I still get the
error: 'The add-on could not be installed because it does not mach the
add-on Firefox expected' when trying to install from the Mozilla site,
and the error: 'This add-on could not be installed because it appears
to be corrupt' when trying to manually install the file 'firebug-1.8.1-
fx.xpi'.
Very strange..

On my PC, Firebug is OK on Firefox 6.

Firefox upgraded itself to 6 and Firebug stopped working. When I click
on the Tools menu nothing is available.
I upgraded to 1.8.1 and that didn't help at all. I tried uninstalling
Firefox and Firebug and then installing the two of them again 6 and
1.8.1 and I Firebug options are still not available in my Tools menu.

I just want to confirm this issue: I have Mac OS 10.6.8, Firefox 6.0
and Firebug 1.8.1. Suddenly it started to work partially. Firefox
doesn't show Firebug in tools menu. Firebug starts automatically when
I launch Firefox, but if I close Firebug window there is no way to
relaunch it again. Upgrade to Firefox 1.9.0a0 did not help. I created
new Firefox profile and it didn't help ether.

Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -ProfileManager
doesn't work for me on a Terminal command line.
If I can't get it working, I'll just see if I can revert back to
Firefox 5 somehow.
