Hope everyone (or two) had a good summer. Have to say that was one hell of a race weekend to get us back in to the season. Jenson was peerless on Saturday and Sunday and Lewis was something else beginning with a 'p' all weekend. Does anyone else think that he might benefit from taking a year off in 2013?
The race was of course diminished by Grosjean's ludicrous move on Lewis (but why does the No 4 McLaren have an idiot magnet in it?) and as everyone saw we were very lucky not to have a serious injury to Fernando. Agree with the one race ban but think Maldonado should have had the same, simply because he is a bloody lunatic. After the dust settles and Jenson stretched his legs it looked for a while as if we would have a delightful little dice between Kimi and Michael, but neither had the car beneath them. Nice move on Michael at eau Rouge by Kimi. Seb drove one of the best races of his career, Mark was not quite on it and Hulkenberg showed what a talent he really is, although it was a pity Paul had KERS issues because he too could have been right up with his team mate. Good to see Vergne and Ricciardo in close competition, perhaps it means that Vergne might almost be as good as he thinks he is, but the cars do now seem a lot better than at the beginning of the season. Massa drove a solid race, perhaps showing us that Fernando might have been on the podium, but at least the championship is a little bit more open now. Really looking forward to Monza.
