Hi,
I'd like to start a discussion about a few infrastructure points.
Servers
Jembi/mOASIS is able to contribute a virtual machine on
Digital Ocean dedicated to the OpenMRS Mozambique initiative. The server (currently accessible at
esaude.moasis.org.mz) has two 2GHz CPU cores, 4GB of RAM and a 60GB SSD hard disk. I was thinking we could use this server to host development and support issue tracking applications.
Are any other servers available?
Website
Communication
Source Code
We have an organisation on GitHub here:
https://github.com/esaude. Please could
Jan,
Alberto and
Eurico (and anyone else that wants access) give me the names of their GitHub accounts so that I can add them to the organisation.
Is there an actual codebase (or metadata repository) that is ready to be uploaded to GitHub? I'm happy to create and manage as many repositories as we need.
Roadmap
We are currently using a Google Doc to manage our release roadmap. This roadmap can be found here:
http://tiny.cc/eSaudeEMRroadmap. Does anyone have any ideas for the roadmap yet?
Issue Tracking
We are still deciding on which issue tracking system to use. For now we've ruled out JIRA (due to cost) and GitHub issues. We've had suggestion of
Pivotal Tracker and
Trello. There are
a large number of options, but when we decide on one, I'd be happy to install it on our server and manage it.
Support
There are also
quite few options for help desk software. We've had suggestions of
Redmine (free),
Zendesk and
Desk (not free). I think
osTicket (free) might also be a good option. I think it's important to choose a solution with an integrated knowledge base (i.e. wiki) in order to consolidate our community knowledge. I'm happy to install a support system on our server.
Let me know if there's anything else we should be thinking about from a technical infrastructure perspective.
Ciao,
Pascal
