#1 Feature Request Released: Language

Finally released the language feature in ERPNext:

Is it possible to have some Excel or CSV file with all English text that should be translated?

We, from "small languages" (Serbian) can put proper translation in it and you can have proper translation in System.

I was not so clear :)

In majority of project like this, multilingual is archived in following way:

1. There is table of all English strings used in the software

2. There is translation table for every language defining translation from English to language X

3. Strings are displayed using function like translate(language, string)

So, if you use something similar, and you have list of all strings, we, small language speakers, can simply fill this table for our language.and you can easily have as many languages as you want :)

It will also reduce need for custom Print Forms, because translation will be done automatically, especially if "language" became attribute of Print Form, Print Header, ...

I am pushing the language files as CSV - so everyone can contribute to translations:

You can download the files and edit them in a spreadsheet application. Once you are done, you can either mail us or send in a pull-request via GitHub.

Unfortunately Google Translate does not give Sinhala out of the box. (Just tried it once more)

What you need to do is take a file from the translations folder and mail us the translations.
