napp-it install fails

i am running eon-1.0b-151-64-cifs-min.iso and try to get napp it, but it fails.

can anyone tell me howto get the
napp-it nightly to work?

Hi Kalt,

You have to install perl first (here's the quick way assuming /usr/local is properly symlinked to your /zpool/local)
cd /mnt/eon0/bin
./slinky r
./slinky c
rail install perl

now that perl is installed reset links from temporary to production
./slinky r
./slinky perl

but the download was too fast... i guess i dont have the rights (i am root)

Not sure what is going on there but it did complete whatever that download was.

You will need to install the binary kit, apache or other web server first as this will require unzip, ...

cd /usr/local/apache/cgi-bin (from memory it goes in the cgi-bin of apache check instructions where it should go)

i give it up... very very good project but you need to be some guru which i am obviously not.
the guides on several sites describe the way with <eon0.60 cifs + napp-it version 0.4. 

there is no tutorial/guide/howto/ for current versions
EON ZFS Storage 1.0Beta based on oi 151a release!  + napp-it 21.03.2012 0.8c version.

Hi Kalt,

I have not checked if the latest version of napp-it works with EON but I mentioned last time I checked a version he had an improperly linked module and don't know if its been corrected. Have you tried reaching out to Gea?

I just tested napp-it 0.8c. It works, but you have to modify the scripts a little. EON does not have the command 'whoami' as the napp-it installer uses that command to check for which user is running the wget.

Correct, I found the same plus many other changes but still did not get it working fully. I'm not sure this version of napp-it has been tested to work with EON:
-had a /var/wwwroot requirement
-modified the starter script to t[3] to match the correct SunOS oi_151a strings.
-I found it had to use the internal minihttpd server and could not get it to work w apache
-it still unpacked smart, bonnie and other binaries that were already present

I can provide a proper whoami binary for download. Feel free to share your steps for others interested in napp-it.

Sorry, I jump the gun here. I got it to partially installed with what you mention. It needs more work to get it fully working.

it tried napp-it on open indiana... sadly its not that helpful and working as i expected
the install process "was a walk in the park" but i got errors by replacing a drive from the pool, and i did not got
the email notifiction to send a testmail.

okay, maybe i found the reason why nappit dont replace the drive...
(orange oops error)
the pool was created with eon, so the name is like c3t4d0p0 (p0 at the
end)
however open indiana name it shorter c3t4d0 maybe nappit dont read the
name right ... just a guess
