Christmas Fair Preparation has Started



Christmas competition, My Christmas Tree, intended for school and university
students and other creative-minded individuals took place in October and
November within Waste Management Technologies in Regions, Phase II (WMTR
II).

The competition was aimed at promoting public involvement in environmental
activities, launching initiatives and development of creative vision among
youth, promoting the re-use concept and organizing a Christmas fair for
charity purposes.

Under the rules of competition, anyone could send photos of their hand-made
Christmas accessories made from old items. The photos were then uploaded on
a Facebook page of WMTR II program.

The first phase of the above competition ended on November 26. Based on the
number of “likes” collected by the authors of photos and on the quality of
the produced items, 20 participants were selected for a trip to Bulachauri
Green Centre to prepare even more Christmas accessories from the old stuff.

WMTR II program will conduct a charity sales and exhibition of these
Christmas souvenirs in the frameworks of two Christmas fairs.

At IWA (International Women’s Association) Winter Fair, Radison Blu Iveria
on December 2, Rose Revolution Square 1; 10:00-16:00

At Christmas Fair at Fabrica on December 23-24, E. Ninoshvili 8; 14:00-20:00

Due to diversity and a large number of works provided by the participants,
the competition will continue. Exhibition of authors’ Christmas handicraft
items will be held for the second phase participants on December 15, this
time already in Telavi. For detailed information and updates, please check
