To whom it may concern,

UN ESCAP and UN-Habitat invite cities and towns in Asia and the Pacific to join the project “Integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into local action in support of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Asia and the Pacific”.

The aim of this multi-year project is to assist pilot cities in undertaking a participatory process that works towards transforming their urban resource management into more sustainable systems. Through a locally-driven co-learning process, urban stakeholders will strengthen evidence-based and integrated decision-making approaches. The focus is on jointly initiating or revising a local plan or initiative and implementing prioritized activities that enhance sustainable urban resource management and contribute to the city’s progress on the 2030 Agenda.

We welcome (a) local governments or (b) organizations from civil society – including organized communities, NGOs, foundations, academic institutions or local businesses to apply by completing the call for expressions of interest (EoI).

Attached for your information is:

1) the project brochure,

2) the EoI template with further explanations on all aspects of the application process, and

3) a sample letter of endorsement from local government.

All completed EoIs should be addressed to escap-e...@un.org with copy to weh...@un.org and  cerin.kizh...@un.org with the subject line: “EoI: [Name of the City], [Country]”.

We look forward to your application and/ or kindly invite you to share this call for EoI with your network.

Best regards,

UN ESCAP & UN-Habitat
