ALERT; U.S. to Build More Tactical Nuclear
Weapons
Republicans in Congress are now voting for the U.S. Military
HR5515 to build more nuclear weapons. Democrats are opposing it as part of
the bill soon to be voted upon in the Senate.
As it looks now the $716 Billion military Budget for 2019 will
pass (vote scheduled today) with both houses of Congress , The Bill,
HR5515 includes a provision recinding a previous ban against the building of
tactical Nuclear Weapons, which would be positioned
on our submarines.
it seems to me that those of us in favor of disarmament of
nuclear weapons would agree that protests are in order here! Although any
further major nuclear disarmament agreements with Russia are unlikely an
agreement to disarm and prohibit the building of
any new tactical nuclear weapons would be in the best
interests
of all concerned.
This could be facilitated by a Democratically controlled
congress after the November elections. Reducing the military budget and
completely stopping any building of new tactical nuclear weapons could be a part
of the campaign issues the Democratic candidates running for office in
November.
Also, a March on Washington to
-STOP FUNDING FOR BUILDING MORE NUCLEAR
WEAPONS- would gain both national and international
attention.
Although president Donald Trump advocates for more Military
spending and increasing our nuclear weapons arsenal his tenure as
President may be in doubt due to various circumstances.
he could resign or be impeached if the democrats regain a
majority in both houses in November, just a few months from
now.
If that occurs a new Republican President
may be very reticent to oppose a democratic controlled
congress on such a vital issue as nuclear
disarmament.

Congress has now, once again, supported the Trump
administration's policy of enlarging our military budget and Nuclear Weapons
arsenal.
This recent vote by Congress supporting the larger military
funding bill for 2019 , HR5515 piggybacks (with grand
hypocracy) our ongoing negotiations with North Korea, trying to induce them to
reduce or eliminate their nuclear weapons stockpiles.
This too smacks of the U.S. plans for nuclear
modernization, fostering plans to build yet bigger and
more powerful nuclear weapons in the future.
The Trump administration and the pentagon seems to have lost
sight of the fantastic danger a nuclear war would bring-
millions of lives lost and the possible destruction of much of the planet
itself...
Although this seems to be a "done deal" there is hope for
reversing these nuclear policies and establish a sound and much safer national
defense strategy. Let us press our Democratic contenders for
Congressional seats in November to take a strong stand against escalating our
nuclear weapon forces!

Supporters of developing tactical nuclear weapons
say the United States needs to counter Russia's extensive low-yield

Critics say the weapons heighten the risk of
Armageddon because
it is folly to think nuclear war can be waged on
