The Kick-off Meeting of the project “ENSURING PARTICIPATORY DECISION MAKING PROCESSES AT REGIONAL AND NATIONAL LEVELS BY EMPOWERING NGOs/CSOs” was held at hotel “Tbilisi Marriott”.
Project is financed by the European Union and is implemented by the non-governmental organizations – “The Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth - Georgia”; “City Institute Georgia”; Research-Intellectual Club “Dialogue of Generations” and “Public Advocacy”.
The meeting aimed to inform the audience about project partner organizations, project goals and objectives and action plan, as well.
Project is oriented toward strengthening CSOs and local authorities, raising public awareness on Environmental Impact Assessment procedure and supporting public involvement in decision-making process. Project covers 4 regions of Georgia (Mtskheta-Mtianeti; Imereti; Ratcha-Lechkhumi and Samtskhe-Javakheti). Except target regions, informational meetings will be held all over Georgia.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the project implementer organizations, deputy minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia – Nino Tandilashvili, chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia – Kakhaber Kutchava, members of the Committee – Giorgi Gachechiladze, Zaza Khutsishvili, Gogi Meshveliani, representative of the European Delegation to Georgia – Dominika Skubida, representatives from the various non-governmental organizations and project experts.
