“The Lone Earth” Meeting - Georgia’s Protected
Areas
Agricultural University of Georgia founded of an eco-club
“The Lone Earth”
within the framework of Shota Rustaveli National Scientific
Foundation
funded 2017 competition “Science Begins from School – Research
with
Participation of Schoolchildren” in N64 Tbilisi State School. The eco
club
was formed with active support of St. Ilia the Right Tbilisi school of
Patriarchate of Georgia and CENN. The club hosts educational lectures
in
every two weeks.
The project is carried out within the
project framework of “Examination of
soil conditions and approaches to
rational use of adjacent territories of
Kojori-Samadlo motor
road”.
During the club meeting, representative from Ministry of
Environment and
Natural Resources of Georgia, Agency of Protected Areas –
Mariam
Tatarashvili gave a lecture about “Protected Areas of Georgia”. The
presentation included information about protected areas of Georgia and
services (Ecotourism). The presentation was held in an interactive format
with active participation of schoolchildren.
