Now that Metrolinks in Toronto has started using LVT, the Green Party of Ontario is more confident in pushing it. They're the first political party to do so in Ontario. Excellent!!! 

They are also opposing the sale of the electricity grid, which also follows HG thinking. Monopolistic assets should be public. It's fine if such assets are private so long as the full rent is captured.

Dear Frank,   This month Premier Kathleen Wynne announced she is considering privatizing parts of Ontario Hydro to pay for public transit projects.    We know that privatization will hurt us all by driving up costs and limiting Ontario’s ability to modernize our electrical system -- such as adding more renewable energy to our grid.   The Liberals must be honest about the need for new revenue tools to fund public transit, rather than selling important public assets.   The Green Party of Ontario agrees with the transit funding recommendations of expert panels that have suggested: Commercial Parking Levies Congestion Charges and Road Pricing Land Value Taxation Join us in demanding responsible and sustainable long-term solutions to our transit needs. Yes, this is good. All three of the tools listed are in the line of charging for use of land. Drivers may resent 2 of them, though.
