(A)          *Major Nature*: Obstructive Bus Stands: In Delhi there is a
persistent problem wherever roads are widened the ‘bus stands’ are left as
it is. It appears that civic bodies are under impression that some foreign
body will come to relocate these. In case bus stand is not shifted
appropriately to fall in line with the new footpath edge you actually
create a bottleneck resulting in waste of whole exercise. Several such
examples can be seen all across Delhi Roads to quote a few example (i)
Samalkha T point, (ii) Arjun Path etc. Whole road has been widened but
these bust stands are standing on the road creating blockage. The point is
if land owning agency is not competent to shift the bust stand it should
not widen rest of the road.



*Action Required*: Instruct PWD to immediately undertake a survey to
prepare a list of all such spots and push back the ‘bus stands’ suitably &
remove bottleneck.
