Dear all,
July 31, 1940, The great revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh was hanged on the charges of assassination of of Gen. Michael O'Dwyer. It was his revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. He also went on 42 day hunger strike while on trial.
July 31, 1980 Great play back singer Mohd Rafi left us on this with his immortal songs, which we hum today also.

August 4, 1956 - India's first (Asia's too) Nuclear Reactor Apsara went critical at BARC. It was built by Indian engineers in just 15 months.
