 The University of Minnesota in the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics and Southwest Research and Outreach Center (SWROC) located near Lamberton, MN is seeking a dynamic and motivated candidate for a Postdoctoral position in the area of Crop Modeling Applications / Sustainable Cropping Systems. This is a 2-yr position. The primary workplace is the SWROC at 23669 130th Street, Lamberton, MN 56152. Part of the postdoc's time will also be spent at the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics located on the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus. This position will report to Dr. Axel Garcia y Garcia.

 

The postdoc will use crop simulation models for studying the influence of cover crops on corn/soybean cropping systems and the environment. This will involve calibration, validation, and application of crop models from various decision support systems to study the effects of integrated management practices on crop growth and yield as well as nitrogen and water use and efficiencies (80%). The Postdoc is expected to support faculty researchers and supervise/guide graduate students within the area of crop modeling applications and model outputs analysis (20%).
