Post-Doc (Geospatial Hydrology) Position Description

"The Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Vernon, TX (http://vernon.tamu.edu/)(Texas A & M University System) is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Geospatial Hydrology) position. The candidate will assist Dr. Srinivasulu Ale, Associate Professor (Geospatial Hydrology) with the development and implementation of research projects related to sustainable water resources management and water quality on crop, range and grazing lands and pasture production systems under semi-arid environments. Research is expected to address broad research areas such as development of decision support tools for efficient crop and irrigation management and increasing water use efficiency under current and future climate change scenarios; assessment of impacts of land use change, climate change, watershed management and rangeland restoration on hydrology and water quality at various spatial and temporal scales; water quantity and quality assessment and management; and/or other research areas depending on the requirements of funding sources.

The individual is expected to have strong crop/hydrologic/water quality modeling skills, proficiency in the use of GIS and Remote sensing software, and the ability to train and supervise graduate students and technicians in planning and conducting research and analyzing data. The selected candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Agricultural/Civil/ Environmental Engineering, Agronomy, Soil Science, Ecosystem Science & Management or closely related field at the time of appointment. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.
