Dear colleagues,

I currently have an opening for a postdoctoral research associate to join my group at the University of Manchester as part of a new £8m project “DAMS 2.0: Design and Assessment of resilient and sustainable interventions of water-energy-food-environment Mega-Systems” (http://gtr.rcuk.ac.uk/projects?ref=ES%2FP011373%2F1).

The selected postdoc will lead the modelling and analysis of historic and future impacts of dams on agricultural production, and evaluate how agricultural water demands can be balanced sustainably and equitably with those of hydropower, cities, and freshwater ecosystems under future uncertainty. The position is for an initial period of 36 months, and will focus on three selected case studies in Africa (Volta and Nile basins) and SE Asia (Salween basin in Myanmar). Further details about the position and how to apply can be found here: https://www.jobs.manchester.ac.uk/displayjob.aspx?jobid=14784

I would really appreciate if you could circulate this vacancy with any potential candidates that you might have within your network. For informal discussions about the position, candidates can contact me via email (timothy...@manchester.ac.uk). The deadline for applications is 9 March 2018, with a planned start date of May 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Best regards,

Tim Foster
