If any of you MS students or PhD students in Germany had any info on what graduate school like is there in Germany I'd appreciate it!  And...if I get in, I'll gladly bring all my equipment and throw it in a local lab!

Hi there,

We have a DIY lab in Munich, which welcomes any new biohackers in the area, and there is also one in Berlin if I am right, although I do not have any contact to them.

@Dakota: I'm just finishing a PhD in Bavaria, feel free to write to me if you have any questions about the graduate system here.

Hello Guys,

i was wondering if there are any DIY-Labs in Germany, especially near Frankfurt (Marbug, Giessen). I know a couple of guys (bachelor/master students) who are interested to create something here, and we already have an old thermocycler. Not much but it's something. ;)

What we do lack are some straight plans, ideas and a location. Maybe there are some like-minded people who want's to meet and discuss and maybe get something started here.

Cheers,
Jan

Hi,

I would love to get in contact with the Berlin group, but
they are hard to contact and not really responsive.
Also the website is quite ...simple.
And, big disadvantage: there seems to be no (open) mailing list.

If any of you guys is reading this, I would love to meet up :-)
(wednesdays is bad for me and only once a month is too rarely,
I'm experimenting several evenings per week).

Cheers, Matthias

Looking over my notes, I only currently have *you* down as part of the
Berlin group. I guess this is wrong. Does anyone know who is part of
the Berlin herd?

Here are my guesses:

* Jose Gomez-Marquez <jose.gome...@gmail.com>
* Mark Molybdän <moly...@googlemail.com>

I guess that's it. Anyone know?

Hallo Felix,

LG, Matthias

Hey Perpetuitas,

Very late answer I know but I just came across this old conversation now.
I just moved to Kiel recently for my PhD (actually working in Max Planck in Ploen) in genetics.
Before that I started a bio-hacklab in Warsaw - that will hopefully keep working when I am away.
You can check out a small film from workshops here.

I am super interested if anything happened with this idea of bio-lab in Kiel?
Is there any group? Any people ineterested in it? I would like to join.

Ciao,
lysaveta

Hey Jan,

I am interested in opening a hackerspace but I am near Kiel. I do have some labequipment but I lack any electrical divices like PCR and stuff. I am sourcing from UNI Goettingen and Kiel to get some old stuff. Are you guys biology students?
