http://site.methodological.co/about     (caveat still very pre-alpha)

Methodological springs from the frustration of science students and researchers who’ve spent hours reading complicated journal articles, talking to colleagues and searching the net for a protocol that will work for their experiment in their lab.

Methodological is a resource for the research community, providing clear, step-by-step protocols and the ability to share your improvements and variations. We’re searchable and simple to use.

Methodological is a social enterprise with the mission of making hard science just that little bit easier for all.

There doesn't seem to be any protocols listed there. I think
methodmint was vaguely interesting.. they tried to use the
stackexchange format for protocols. I can't seem to find their site,
so here's there source code:

http://trac.methodmint.org/browser

But there was no traction (which is probably why they took the site
down). I would be curious to hear about ideas for building actual
momentum in online protocols (outside of publisher sites). So far
protocol-online.org is still the most comprehensive resource, even
though it's been falling apart for more than a decade.

Protocol-online is my go to for everyday protocols, followed by openwetware if nothing shows up on protocol, followed by google top hits.  It is hit or miss on protocol online, as you're just relying on the comments someone posts, which many times are incomplete or vauge or in broken english.  Open Wet Ware has more "polished" protocols, but sometimes not exactly what you're looking for.  But, if you can create a better one, then more power to ya, and I'd probably use it!
