Anyone have experience with an in vitro protien synthesis kit?

I was looking over some options for protein synthesis (I originally was going to try using a yeast vector) and came across NEB's purexpress in vitro protein synthesis kit Does anyone have experience using something like this? I would be using it for hydrogenase gene expression prior to running Westerns.

What hydrogenase? From what organism?

Why a western? Experimental details would make it easier for one to give an opinion.

Many hydrogenases can be expressed in bacteria.

The main caveat of in vitro protein synthesis is the very minute quantity of protein that is actually produced.
Add on the price of a kit and things can become expensive fast. In vitro protein synthesis is usually used as a last resort.

Has anyone attempted to express the protein in bacteria?
