Oh cool, thanks. Ordered a copy.

Very nice free excerpt (contents and Chapter 2 on Equipping a home lab, mostly about microscopes, but also Dremelfuge links and other goodness):

Also worth noting that the book authors have put together a kit of pretty much everything you need to perform the experiments in the book (sans Microscope):

Which includes a number of goodies that might otherwise be difficult to obtain, and seems like a very good deal for $170 (to US Addresses, more for Canada, and not available otherwise).

P.P.S., Those interested in acquiring a copy of the book might find the ebook offering from the publisher at ~$27 more interesting than the Amazon ~$21 price for the paperback, as it includes DRM-free PDF and other ebook formats. I bought it this way and have the PDF version on my iPad which is an exact replica of the book. Amazon also has a Kindle version, but it's not a "book replica" so it's just the text and therefore pretty much useless in this instance.

Oh, and the book is looking really cool btw.

This is a great intro book so far and I especially like the practical side. Shame kit not available in Europe. Is there an AdaFruit Equivalent for DIYBIO on kickstarter for Europe yet?
