Hey guys,

I want to examine yeast under the microscope and was just wondering is there a stain anyone would recommend,
or is Methylene blue just the standard stain?

Thanks.

lactophenol cotton blue might give you some nice stains as well as it's the go to for fungus, mainly filementous, havn't used it on a yeast myself.  gram stains can be used as well, depends on what you're trying to visualize

You can see the cells nicely using a phase contrast lens. Neutral Red will stain the nucleus so you can see that in the cells.
