According to Space.com/Mars.vs.venus, Venus is the planet that would most harbor life forms currently. Space.com also says that Mars doesn't have water so landing there would not be beneficial. Mars also has a ring that makes landing there dangerous. (None of these statements are true... it is only an example of how to post. Do not use the statements as your response)

Solarsystem.nasa.gov states that Venus has the hottest surface and atmosphere in the solar system with the capability of melting lead.  Mars, however, is the opposite.  According to Nasa.gov, Mars is freezing, with an average temperature of about minus 80 degrees fahrenheit.  It does not possess an atmosphere, and is rocky and mountainous.

If you were to land on mars it would be sandy and Venus would be hot.

The biggest difference is landing on Venus is going to be a very hot surface, while mars has a cold surface. The tempeture and surface will be almost opposite from each other.

I agree; Venus has a hot surface because its atmosphere causes a greenhouse gas effect.  I was surprised to find out that Venus is so hot it can melt lead.

According to space.com, Venus has a constant greenhouse effect which causes the gases to continually heat up the planet making it near impossible to land anything there with an average temperature of 864 degrees Fahrenheit. Mars is a cooler planet with virtually no atmosphere and a rocky/mountainous surface with an average temperature of -55 degrees Celsius which would make Mars much more plausible to land on. Both of these planets are widely different from each other in temperature and geography.

https://www.popsci.com states that "So the images from the surface of Venus might not be as stunning as the vistas we have of Mars, but when you think about the environment those landers had to survive to take those images -- temperatures approaching 900 degrees Fahrenheit and an atmospheric pressure 92 times what we feel on Earth -- they become pretty incredible" and that many of the times the landers all burnt up on the atmospehere or involved a mishap, like the Lens cap on the camers getting stuck, or lack of communication.

The differences i would encounter visiting Mars vs. Venus would be temperature, size, and distance from sun. I would rather visit Mars because if i were to visit Venus it would be very hot there, and i would rather be cold than hot. I would also love to see Jupiter from Mars point of view. https://www.universetoday.com/46560/mars-and-venus/

After reading https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/venus I learned that unlike landing on mars it would be difficult to land on Venus due to the extreme heat which is capable to melting metals like lead. Mars is the opposite and contains and equal amount of dry land as earth according to https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/mars the rest of mars is covered on ice caps.

http://zebu.uoregon.edu/disted/ph121/l13.html, based on this article landing on Venus will be more difficult because it has the hottest temperature in solar system (890 degrees).

https://www.geek.com/news/what-would-it-be-like-to-stand-on-the-surface-of-venus-1597652/ states that being on the surface of Venus would be deadly. With the combined high temperature, terrible weather, and the volcanic landscape, I would not want to land on Venus. The difference in landing on Mars, even though mars is like landing in a wasteland, is that it would be much safer because the atmosphere is not deadly. Mars would also be much colder, and usually calmer because its further from the sun, and there are no winds. Unless you arrive in the middle of a storm.

According to https://www.popsci.com/should-we-send-men-venus-instead-mars, The surface temperatures of Venus are much higher than those of Mars. The atmosphere pressure is also much higher than Mars. The high temperatures on Venus can cause lead to melt, making it hard to land spacecraft there.

According to https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/never-mind-mars-what-about-trip-venus-first-180953717/
setting up a city on a planet that has an atmosphere much different than mars, would be like building a city on a cloud. Venus has a similar gravity and pressure like Earth and would also protect life from radiation of the sun more than Mars. They consider it easier to set up a human colony on Venus than Mars. Temperatures are also tolerable to withstand.

The atmosphere of Mars's is very thin and cold, whether Venus's atmosphere is very thick and hot.(https://www.space.com/5112-venus-mars-surprising-similarities.html) The overall size of the surface of the two planets is different. Venus's is much larger than Mars. The length of an average day on Venus is much shorter than the length of Mars's average day.(https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/compare?Object1=earth&Object2=mars&System=Metric&refresh=Refresh).

Landing on Venus is different from landing on Mars. Venus is covered in craters, mountains, and volcanoes. I know that we can't land on Venus because of the planets thick clouds, but we have space missions on Venus.it is also very hot on Venus. Landing on mars is the opposite. Mars is covered in rocks, canyons, and red dustOn mars, the temperature is freezing there.

The surface temperature and atmospheric pressure of Venus is much higher than Mars which can lead to Lead being melted.  It's atmospheric pressure is as strong as it would be half a mile under Earths oceans. Any space craft designed would not make it through Venus' atmosphere without burning up, so landing on mars would be an easier task.

According to https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/planets/, landing on Venus and Mars would be quite different. Venus is the hottest planet in the Solar System, Rotates from East to West, and its atmosphere is so thick that you would feel like you were one mile underwater on earth if you were to stand on its surface. Mars has its own unique qualities, too. It is a cold, dry land, contains frozen water (ice), and is said to be the most likely planet for human colonization.

Landing on venus would be more difficult than mars, because venus has a hotter surface than mars. Therefore mars is the most similar planet to earth and i feel like it would be the same as landing on earth.

If you were to land on Venus the pressure and the gasses would instantly kill you and any objects with you. Mars would be much easier to land on due to the similar gravity.
