Dear All,

We are pleased to announce a new release 2.0 of
the PDFgetX3 software which is now available at
https://www.diffpy.org/products/pdfgetx.html.
The main new features are the new program "pdfgetn3"
for extracting PDFs from constant-wavelength neutron
scattering data, new parameter "twothetazero" for
correction of diffractometer offset, and an added
support for Python 3.7 (versions 3.6, 3.5, 3.4, 2.7
are also supported). The release includes a number
of fixes and improvements which are listed at
https://www.diffpy.org/doc/pdfgetx/2.0.0/release.html.
For more details about the new neutron PDF functionality
please see recent paper in Journal of Applied Crystallography
at https://doi.org/10.1107/S1600576718010002.

PDFgetX3 and PDFgetN3 are free for individuals carrying
out open academic research, but require a paid license
for commercial use or when multiple users will use the
same copy of the software.
Please contact Beth Kauderer <techtr...@columbia.edu>
if you have questions.

The new PDFgetX3 and PDFgetN3 software is distributed
by Columbia Technology Ventures which make it available at
https://columbia.resoluteinnovation.com/technologies/M11-120.
The licensing process might be a bit confusing so here
are step-by-step instructions:

(1) Follow the "Express Licensing" link in the navigation bar
and sign-in to continue.

(2) The sign-in redirects to the innovation homepage.
Return to the previous page (the address above)
or just search for "pdfgetx3".

(3) Click "Express Licensing" again and then choose
"PDFgetX3 and PDFgetN3, Free Academic".

(4) Submit the license request and await the license
approval email.

(5) The download will be available from
TopPage --> More --> "Manage Downloads" menu or at
https://columbia.resoluteinnovation.com/downloads.

Note that if you have previously licensed PDFgetX3,
you can just sign-in and follow to step (5).

For more information about PDFgetX3 and PDFgetN3,
see user manual and/or associated publications listed at
https://www.diffpy.org/products/pdfgetx.html.

Questions about PDFgetX3 and PDFgetN3 usage should be
directed to the diffpy-users Google Group
https://groups.google.com/d/forum/diffpy-users.

Enjoy!

Dear Pavol,

I have version 1.1. I am following the 5 steps mentioned here to get 2.0 or 1.2 but the submission is NOT working out (all info are given and then I press submit license request but it does not proceed).

Thank you,

Ahmed

Dear Ahmed,

The license request needs to be approved by a CTV person,
and they will send you an email notification when done.
The download option will appear after your license is
approved.

Please check your email (including the spam folder)
any for messages from Columbia Technology Ventures.

Let me know if you don't get such email within
24 hours and I will ask CTV to follow up.

Thank you,

Pavol

Dear Ahmed,

Sorry for misunderstanding - I see the same problem.
The license form gets stuck after clicking the
"Submit License Request" button.

As you know from our other emails, this was reported to
the CTV and they are working on a fix.
I will post here to diffpy-users when the page is fixed.

Thank you,

Pavol
