Dear All,

We are using dataverse from few years (v 3.0 onwards) on our own servers and not on Harvard provided dataverse.
We are facing lots of problems in upgrading from V3 to V3.6, V4, V4.1 and now V4.2.

What is best strategy? Should we also use dataverse at Harvard (https://dataverse.harvard.edu ) and not thinking about having our own installation becaue Harward dataverse automatically gets upgraded?

If yes, is there any size limitation on harwerd and how long Harward will support this. I may expect to have assay 100 TB data in next 2 years?

Regards
Abhi

Hi Abhi,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble upgrading DVN and Dataverse. :(

As http://dataverse.org indicates, http://dataverse.harvard.edu is "open for all researchers worldwide from all disciplines to deposit data" so you (and all you other lovely people) are welcome to upload data there. You can read the Harvard Dataverse Preservation Policy at http://best-practices.dataverse.org/harvard-policies/harvard-preservation-policy.html

There *are* size limitations when uploading to the Harvard Dataverse. I just checked and that limit is 1 TB but please reach out to sup...@dataverse.org to inquire about this.

I hope this helps.

Phil
