* The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation awarded IQSS a grant to integrate Dataverse with Code Ocean, Encapsulator, and Make Data Count: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/k4x6lhaxGpc/bK6V2THzFgAJ
* The 2018-09-11 Dataverse Community Call was about large file upload and dowload, internationalization, Google's new Dataset Search, OSF/Dataverse integration, and more: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/0jYIStxOI8o/DYLJoEFkGAAJ
* The 2018-09-25 Dataverse Community Call was about internationalization, a Global Dataverse Community Consortium helpdesk, large dataset upload, drivers for S3-like storage, and more: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/dataverse-community/vO7WcrxdeCA/7Cpb_RKLAQAJ
* Harald Kusch from the University of Göttingen discussed Dataverse in his talk "Pilot integration of an electronic lab notebook and an open source research data repository as part of a modular biomedical research data platform": https://os.helmholtz.de/bewusstsein-schaerfen/workshops/helmholtz-open-science-workshop-elektronische-laborbuecher/
* Philip Durbin from IQSS gave a talk entitled "Reproducibility and Dataverse" at the Whole Tale Workshop on Tools and Approaches for Publishing Reproducible Research: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuyQTsOGugc

Thanks Phil!!

The Sloan Foundation grant also involves a "Curation Services" component (it's mentioned in the Dataverse blog post, which is linked to from the Google Groups thread that you linked to).

Another event: Dataverse was presented to Science Gateways community -
it was well received, with lots of interest to be used by the
community and integrate it with research computing environments as
part of the research lifecycle:
